CASE O01: Fort Lauderdale United
CASE STUDY 001: Fort Lauderdale United
Football in South Florida is thriving.
We’re not talking about Messi mania, pink kits, and $500 nose-bleed tickets.
We’re talking about a women’s team with a wealth of talent, a palpable work ethic, and a beautiful blue kit as rich as the budding football community that surrounds it.
Families taking in the beautiful game, branding centered on the nautical environment that defines the city, and local youth players running around envisioning themselves playing under the lights one day.
Fort Lauderdale United currently sits in second place entering the second half of the season in the USL Super League. With a team built primarily on elite college standouts and a handful of seasoned pros, this was always going to be a fun mix. From Lipscomb University in Tennessee to Hibernian Football Club in Edinburgh, Scotland - the varying styles of play are brought together in a direct and entertaining fashion (even in an exhibition match). With former Premier League, Championship, and MLS veteran, Tyronne Mears at the helm as head coach, you wouldn't expect much less.
In a beautiful blue arena, under a warm Floridian moon, something fun is happening in South Florida. A human footballing experience with some Elbo Room - a local kind of love.
